What are Punctuation Commands?

Punctuation commands are phrases you say when dictating that add specific punctuation to your document. You don't need to say "TalkType" before using punctuation, and it's really simple.

You can simply say, "I look forward to hearing from you soon, full stop", and you will see ", I look forward to hearing from you soon."

How to find your Punctuation Commands

Once you start dictating, you will be able to use a number of voice-controlled punctuation marks just by saying them directly. For a full list of the available voice-controlled punctuation marks, follow the steps below.

  3. Open the tab labelled "Punctuation & special characters." Then click on the drop-down menu that you want, whether that is "basic" punctuation or "advanced", etc.
  4. This will show you what you need to say in order to use that punctuation!
