What are Error logs?

If you're experiencing difficulties or unusual behaviour while using TalkType, providing error logs to our support team can help diagnose and resolve issues, leading to a smoother and more efficient user experience.

Error logs are valuable tools, and this guide will walk you through the steps to retrieve them on both Windows and MacOS operating systems. By following these simple instructions, you can locate and share essential error log files, enabling us to quickly address any concerns you may have.

Windows

  1. Open the Run Command by typing "Run" into the Windows search bar.

  2. Select the "Run" command at the top of the search results.
  3. In the "Run" window, enter the following path: "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\TalkType\logs" without quotation marks.

  4. Look for the main.log file in this location.

  5. Please send us the TalkType file for further analysis.

MacOS

  1. Click on the left-most icon in the Dock to open Finder.

  2. In the menu bar, click on GoGo to Folder...

  3. Copy and paste the following path into the pop-up window: ~/Library/Logs/TalkType

  4. Look for the main.log file in this location.

  5. Please send us the main.log file for further analysis.
