TalkType Dictation Modes
TalkType 2.0 provides you with two different ways to dictate into your Mac.
This brand new feature provides you with a powerful text editor that you can control with your voice. If you want to create a document with just your voice, choose Dictate Notes.
Auto Dictate allows you to use TalkType to dictate directly into other applications, such as Mail or Word, and to use lots of voice commands on your Mac.
Let's take a quick look into each of these different modes and see how you can use them.
1) Dictate Notes
Dictate Notes is the text editor designed for your voice. When using Dictate Notes you can create, edit, and format documents within the application just using your voice.
To open dictate notes, click on the icon in the top bar titled 'Dictate Notes'. This will give you the TalkType Text Editor. When you're ready to start dictating with Dictate Notes, press the microphone icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. This will trigger TalkType to listen to you and will transcribe what you're saying into text and display it in your document.
When in 'Dictate Notes' mode you can only issue text editing commands within the application and cannot issue any global Mac commands!
When you're happy with what you've dictated, you have the option to share it via the share button or can save the document for later.
This is just scratching the surface of what you can do with Dictate Notes. You can also:
Edit your document with your voice including selecting text from word to word.
Format your document with your voice
and much more...
